Spring 2022 Accessory Trends

The gauntlet of Fashion Weeks showcasing Spring 2022 collections have come to an end.  Let us take a look back at the accessory trends from the runway shows.  Marie Claire and The Zoe Report each highlighted the bold and vibrant jewelry trends.  Both noted hoop-shaped necklaces and metal chunky chain bracelets and necklaces.    They both also spotlighted vibrant candy-colored barbie girl jewelry, chunky bangles and the use of arm cuffs.  According to Refinery 29, “larger-than-life jewels reminiscent of the kind you’d spot in antique stores or, say, a treasure chest,” marked the runways.

TheTrendSpotter, Vogue and Elle each highlighted different headwear.  TheTrendSpotter called the netted beret the “effortless and stylish accessory.”  Vogue discussed glittered headpieces “reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties.”  Elle noted Koche’s sculpturally shaped hats.

The ever-present platform shoes trend was the dominant shoe trend as noted by Vogue. 

TheTrendSpotter described wide waist belts as “taking a high fashion turn this season” and as a “fantastic way to create an hourglass silhouette.” 

Vogue highlighted “big cozy” tote bags being used in many collections. 

Refinery 29 noted sunglasses “are seeing a shift to colorful lenses, thanks to brands like Louis Vuitton showing off-kilter shapes.”  Elle also mentioned brightly colored lenses as pivotal to the season.
